‘Allegation baseless’
ITANAGAR, Jan 27: The Akom Welfare Society has termed allegation labeled against one of its clan member and sitting ANSU President Sikka Gapak by Khya Welfare Society as baseless. In a meeting held today, the members discussed the issue in details and found that allegation has been labeled with an intention to tarnish the image of responsible member of Akom Welfare Society. While strongly condemning such kind of baseless allegation, the society stated that such issue could have been solved in mature way by sitting across the table rather than dragging the matter immaturely in the press.

ITANAGAR, Jan 27: The three students namely Rinchin Butti, Bani Pertin and Asmi Mega of Govt College (Bomdila), DN College (Itanagar) and NE Homeopathic College (Itanagar) have bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the state level essay competition being organized by directorate of higher and technical education. Two Kutcha houses gutted
PASIGHAT, Jan 27: Two Kutcha houses of Loko Yirang and Sanjay Rai of Jarku village were reduced to ashes in a massive fire that broke out on Jan 25 morning at about 4.30 AM and the raging blaze left grievous injures to Loko Yirang and his old father Okeng Yirang. They have been admitted by the villagers in the General Hospital, Pasighat for medical treatment.
As per information, the villagers rushed to the scene and one fire brigade was pressed in to the service to douse the blaze but failed and the devastating fire destroyed all the household items of both the families.
On receiving the information, East Siang DC R K Mishra and DDMO G Tsomu along with officers rushed to the spot to take stoke of the situation. The DC announced Rs 3,000 each for both the families as immediate relief and directed the concerned officers to asses the extent of loss. He informed that police investigation is on to unearth the actual cause of the fire mishap. DIPRO
National girl child week
ITANAGAR, Jan 27: A week long programme on National Girl Child week was celebrated at Sagalee ICDS Project from January 21.
On the occasion CDPO Oyam Panor briefed about the status of girl child in the society and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyala, Sagalee Head Master ST Lama also spoke about crime against girl child in the society.

A house gutted
ROING, Jan 27: An MIBT Chang Ghar of one Lomrin Saring of Balek Village, about 8 km from Roing was completely burnt down to ashes on January 23 last at 5:30 PM. The cause of the fire was known to be crackers, which the children was playing nearby the house and the sparks from the crackers after falling on the thatch roofing of the house spread like a wild fire due to dryness. In the fire accident almost all the household articles were reported to be burnt down which was estimated to be Rs 4,15,000.

ITANAGAR, Jan 27: The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh General (Retd) JJ Singh and Chief Minister Nabam Tuki attended a cultural programme ‘Ability beyond disability’ presented by physically challenged children at Raj Bhawan, here today. The cultural presentation was organized by Muskan Welfare Society (MWS), which is led by First Lady of the State, Anupama Singh with an objective to highlight the potentials of differently abled children and to inculcate confidence in them. Among others, State Minister Setong Sena, Parliamentary Secretary Nido Provitro, Chief Secretary Dr. H.K. Paliwal, many dignitaries and invitees along with MWS members and school children attended the programme. Padma Shree Shovana Nrayan, Kathak Exponent attended as special guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that the cultural presentation inspired all to help others particularly physically and mentally challenged children., who are differently abled. The Governor called upon the people to guarantee sustainable livelihood prospects and independent living opportunities for those children who are differently abled and under distress. He commended their teachers and mentors of the children for being compassionate and good human being. The Governor congratulated the MWS for conducting blood donation camps, capability building courses and cleanliness and plantation drives, which he opined will have positive impact in preservation of flora and fauna in the State.

ITANAGAR, Jan 27: The state Govt has decided to hand over the ‘Aalo case’ to the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the State Police for further investigation at the earliest. It may be recalled that a youth leader lost his life on January 11 last following factional skirmishes.
Elected representatives of East Siang, West Siang and Upper Subansiri Tako Dabi, Takar Marde, Gojen Gadi, Jomde Kena and P D Sona today called on Chief Minister Nabam Tuki here to discuss the issue in presence of Chief Secretary H K Paliwal.
Taking note of the tension and unrest following the incident, the Chief Minister in consultation with the Chief Secretary resolved to hand over the case to SIT for an independent and impartial inquiry immediately.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the Government is sensitive to such incidents and takes all possible steps to follow the case and take it to a logical conclusion wherein the victim is delivered justice and the culprits are punished. He expressed confidence that the SIT will leave no stone unturned to unearth all the circumstances of the incident and deliver justice to the victim as well as the aggrieved section of the society as soon as possible.
While deeply mourning the unfortunate death of a promising youth leader, the Chief Minister expressed grief and said that it was an irreparable loss not only for the Galo society but the whole state. He assured to rehabilitate the bereaved family members of the late youth leader in coping with the sudden setback.

The woman activists also launched a dawn to dusk operation against selling of illicit liquor, opium, ganja, tiranga and other tobacco products in the Gumtis and shops in and around Pasighat town in the afternoon.
The woman group working with the theme “Clean East Siang from drugs and alcohol abuse” had conducted a mass awareness meeting at Pasighat Solung Ground on December 16 last and decided to conduct their operation in every nook and corner of the district.
WAKRO, Jan 27: The Meeta Meet 2013 is dedicated to “Improve education in rural Arunachal” Swami Sri Sri Anubhavananda Saraswatiji facilitated Faculty Development Program to help rural Arunachali teachers.
Revathi Shankar and Anjali Dave from the Strategies and Solutions, Vadodara conducted the FDP. 18 rural teachers attended the workshop. While discussing on what makes a teacher effective Revathi Shankar explained in detail the characteristics of a good teacher. She further guided the participants on learning to fulfill effectively the responsibilities inherent in the profession. The captivating session on Interactive teaching by Anjali Dave dealt on identifying different learning styles where the teachers explored how interactive teaching strategies support all learners.
Revathi instructed the teachers to identify the various learning orientation of each child and cater to their needs accordingly as she elaborated on Multiple Intelligences (MI) and learning style. The trainees discussed in length on understanding and appreciating types of intelligence while the Inter Disciplinary Learning (IDL) session interacted on the why and how of cross curricular learning. Teachers attending the workshop learnt to plan lessons incorporating MI/IDL concepts from Anjali Dave.
In the sessions on Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) the resource persons explained in detail on understanding C.C.E and the participants elaborately deliberated on Formative and summative assessment. Her sessions on Creative Teaching of Mathematics and Science thrilled all the participants. Anjali Dave also imparted innovative teaching techniques using specially designed learners’ kits. She exhorted the teachers to use mathematical language and create mathematics culture in the classrooms to interest and motivate children. Sr M.N. Chaturvedi attended the sessions as a special resource person. Sri Chaturvedi also conducted Ganit Vidya workshop in Govt Secondary, KGBV and the Apna Vidya Bhavan schools.Training Tools used were Audio & Video Files, Power Point slides for concepts, Other appropriate visuals, Games and Stories while Learning Methods included Inputs to describe the models and skills covered , with Participatory Question Answer sessions , Working on exercises / games in pairs / groups. ASSET provided suitably equipped training hall with LCD projection facility. Appreciating the teachers of Apna Vidya Bhavan, KGBV and Lohit Rising School for their spirited endeavors and willingness to keep learning, Revathi Shankar asked them to improve on language skills.

‘At home’ function at Raj Bhavan
ITANAGAR, Jan 27: The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh General (Retd) JJ Singh was 'At Home' with distinguished citizens of Arunachal Pradesh and school children at Raj Bhavan lawn on 26th January. The invitees from different walks of life attended the ceremony to greet the Governor and the State first lady. As part of Republic Day celebration, ‘At Home’ make an important feature of the day long programme, where the first couple interact with citizens on the important occasion.
The entire Raj Bhavan, especially the Northern Green was specially decorated with flowers to receive the distinguished gathering. Flower beds of the Bhavan filled with blooming flowers of different species enriched the festivity. Raj Bhavan officials and school children from different schools of the Capital City in the traditional attires were there to receive the guests, while adding colours to the event.
The 'At Home' function began as the Arunachal Pradesh Police band from Police Training Center, Banderdewa played the National Anthem.
Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, his cabinet colleagues, senior officials, social workers, educationists, intellectuals, senior citizens, distinguish achievers, NCC and Scouts and Guides were present at the function.
With the APP band playing tunes of patriotic songs, the Governor and the State first lady, Anupama Singh, intermingled with the august gathering. The Governor and the First Lady interacted with sportspersons and congratulated them for their achievement in national and international events. Meeting of Ex Servicemen with the first couple was a special one as former Chief of Indian Army interacted with his former associates. National Voters Day celebrated
ITANAGAR, Jan 27: National Voters Day was celebrated at Hapoli on January 24.
While briefing about the aims and objective of the national voters day celebration, the Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner cum DEO Taru Talo urged the people to be more aware towards our rights and duties and suggested the young people and women to come forward and take full participation in choosing the right leaders to govern us.
On the day new young voters were felicitated by DEO, Ziro. DSO (stat) Nani Sambyo and ERO, Ziro Nending Chatung also spoke on the occasion.
The National Voters Day also celebrated at the DC’s conference Hall at Pasighat Friday last to enhance the participation of the voters, especially the youths, college students in the democratic processes. Various activities like rally, pledge and essay competitions in schools were organized and distribution of EPICs to all the blocks etc marked the day.
Speaking on the occasion the Deputy Commissioner R K Mishra highlighted the importance of elections in democratic country like India. He informed that East Siang District has distributed cent percent EPICs to the voters in the district and further added that the main objective of observing the Day is to enhance the enrolment of voters especially the newly eligible ones. Every one should know the importance of Vote, because it is only way to elect a right person as our leader to protect the country. Youth should be first to use this right, he further added.

The National Voters Day was celebrated in a befitting manner at Gumin Kiin Aalo on 25 Jan last. West Siang Deputy Commissioner Marnya Ete said that the day assumes special significance as significant number of eligible voters attaining 18 years and above are not enrolled in the electoral rolls. This day is observed to generate awareness on importance of Universal Adult Franchise among eligible voters to inculcate sense of citizenship, pride, participation and also to inspire them to excise their adult franchise as and when election is held. The day should also be utilized to spread awareness among voters regarding effective participation in the electoral process, he sad. The DEO also administered the Voters Pledge and distributed prizes to the winners of easy writing competition held on the occasion.

ITANAGAR, Jan 27: A patriotic cultural evening was organized by Sanskar Bharati Arunachal Pradesh on the eve of ‘Bharat Mata Pujan and Republic Day celebrations’ at Vivekananda Hall, R.K Mission, Itanagar on January 26 last.
Attending the programme as chief guest, Arunachal Pradesh Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (APB&OCWWB), chairman, Jalley Sonam, called upon the people of every section of society to spread love and kindness to make this world a better place to live in.
He said, though our country had attained independence decades ago, still large numbers of people are living below the poverty line. We must selflessly help each other without any discrimination on the basis of caste, creed, religion & community to make this country a vibrant one, he added.
While remembering the supreme sacrifices of freedom fighters, he said, “We must never forget their sacrifices. It’s because of their sacrifices we are happily living with our beloved family members today”.
He further appealed the people not to indulge in cheating. He said, if we cheat on others we are cheating on our own brothers and sisters and ultimately to ourselves.

It is with such endeavors that I was taught literature (I remember my father moving the whole class into tears while teaching us a poem that would arouse love, compassion and honour for women, ‘Ashrame Prabhata’ by Gangadhar Meher, ‘The story of Prithviraj and Sanjukta’ by Sister Nivedita and ‘Gramapatha’ by Binod Nayak) and take the privilege of vouching for the same. It is the tears that we need to implant among our adolescents and youths today no matter how may smart phones they have been glued to, and it is possible, thereby paying a humble tribute to India’s brave daughters who have been facing such brutalities over the years. But to train the sportspersons, India needs more and more trained coaches to give athletes tips and shortcuts to attain maximum performance with less amount of work. The key here is for Indian sportspersons to train harder, faster and more importantly, smarter! This is only possible when trainers who have formal education and training in sports take the responsibility with determined mind to produce excellent sportspersons.

Therefore, no matter how justified one’s anger may be, one should not let his anger explode. Here is a suggestion: If you are sitting on the mouth of your volcano like boiling ‘anger’ then, close your eyes, bite your teeth and hold back your anger for few seconds. Your anger will cool down. Your anger will not be so devastating and heinous. Thus the devastating effect of anger can be prevented.
